Fans have jumped to De Gea’s defence, which is great.

Honestly, I think from where Sane took the shot De Gea would’ve wanted to use his hands, leaning forward, “cup” technique. At worst, tipped round the post.

Footwork should’ve been used for positioning - not to make the save.
